Sunday School

Sunday School meets on Sunday mornings during term time at 10.00 am in Bellie Church Hall and at 11.30 am in Speymouth Parish Church.

Bellie Sunday School presently consists of around forty children. Activities are mainly based around Scripture Union SALT material, supported by a significant musical presence. The Sunday School comprises the Sunbeams group for pre-school children, Frendz for children in Primary 1 - Primary 4 and XtreamM8's for children in Primary 5 - Primary 7. Children under 3 years old are also very welcome in the creche.

Alongside the Sunday School is the Connexions group for young people of secondary school age. The name Connexions comes from the young people remaining connected with the church despite all the other calls on their time. One part of this connection is the invitation for Connexions members to share Holy Communion.

In October 2000, the Bellie Sunday School buried a millennium time capsule in the garden at the rear of Bellie Church, which included samples of the children's work and an audio cassette of the children singing some of their favourite songs, to remain buried for a period of twenty five years.

Speymouth Parish Church also has a lively Sunday School, where both the children and teachers are extremely committed and enthusiastic.

All staff in the Sunday Schools have completed the appropriate Child Protection Training courses.

In recent years, the Sunday Schools and Connexions have been involved with a number of outings where the youngsters have been able to enjoy various activities and share fellowship. These include various residential weekends at Abernethy Outdoor Centre and a Family Day at Landmark, Carrbridge as well as visiting other places of worship.
