Bellie & Speymouth Parish Church of Scotland

Bellie Clock Tower

A considerable renovation project took place during 2016, carrying out much needed repairs to the Clock Tower and steeple at Bellie Church.  The works included an internal and external overhaul of the Clock Tower and clock face, including new lime pointing, new leading, improvements to the clock face and the installation of a newly gilded weather vane.

This was a significant undertaking for the congregation, which needed to raise just under £200,000 to carry out the works.  The funds were raised from the weekly 'Coffee and Chat' in Bellie Church Hall and various fundraising events, supported by grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Gordon and Ena Baxter Foundation, Allchurches Trust, the Baird Trust, Fochabers Village Association and the Scottish Landfill Communities Fund.

Following the completion of the works, a service of dedication took place in January 2017, when the congregation welcomed the various supporters who made the project possible:

The Clock Tower project is part of a heritage programme intended to improve access to our historic church buildings.   The Bellie Church building is now open for members of the public to visit on selected Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons and Heritage Tours can be arranged on request by calling our dedicated line 07763619640.
