Messy Church

Messy Church logoMessy Church has been a growing form of both our worship and outreach to our local communities. Initially, we ran Messy Church every 3 months until the COVID-19 pandemic struck. During lockdown, we ran Messy Church sessions outdoors with treasure hunts, “Messy Church in a Bag”, quizzes and even an on-line baking event. However, since September 2022, we have been providing Messy Church on the first Sunday of every month from 4-6 pm in the Church Hall. Every month, we offer a mix of crafts, games, challenges, Bible stories, puppets and a 2-course family meal for all.

A dedicated team of volunteers helps each time and we have an average attendance of between 75 and 100 at each session made up of people from 2-3 months old up to 85 plus years old. The main aim is to ensure that everyone is introduced to Jesus and our main challenge is to facilitate the nurture and development of people in their Christian journey. For many who come along, Messy Church is their only form of worship but some Messy Church families are attending other church activities as well as Sunday morning worship.
